Lately, a lot of our new customers have asked us how important is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?  If you think about that for a second, Search Engine Optimization has been around since the early 1900s.  While back then it wasn’t called “Search Engine Optimization” and there was no Google, Bing or Yahoo, they did have the Yellow Pages.  People were optimizing their business to rank or in this case be placed higher on the Yellow Pages book.  So what were people doing to optimize their listing?  They would change their business name to start with the letter “A” so their business would place higher and show up on the first pages of the book.  That’s right, you would see a lot of “A1 Muffler Shops, A-Z Painters, ABC Car Rental, you get the idea.  This lasted for decades, but people started catching on to this.  Later, new tricks and ideas were introduced, everyone started to use numbers instead of letters.  So now you would start to see 1 on 1 Carpet Cleaners, 123 Mechanic, and so on.
